BAP Exploratory Consultations
This is a service offered by the BAP to the general public. An initial exploratory consultation is always to be highly recommended for anyone contemplating psychotherapy. It offers the opportunity, without obligation, to talk with an experienced psychoanalytic psychotherapist or psychoanalyst and to think at length and in depth about your difficulties or concerns. The consulation takes approximately one and a half hours and will give you an understanding of what psychoanalytic work is like. If you feel it appropriate to proceed with this kind of treatment you will be helped to find a suitable psychotherapist. If this is not felt to be suitable, alternative forms of help can also be discussed. The current fee for an exploratory consultation is £75.
