Art in the House
Art in the House is a relatively new initiative within the BAP. It represents a desire to tap into the wider creativity of our members and enliven further the daily life of the house. The paintings, photographs, prints and collages complement and enhance the art of psychotherapy in their expression and exploration of the unconscious. We are particularly pleased to have mounted several exhibitions of work by BAP members, one such exhibition was specially selected to add an important dimension to a recent conference.
The BAP also hosts a large collection of well loved and familiar paintings by the husband of a BAP psychotherapist, W. H. Allen, lent by The Hampshire and Country Council Museums Service. The Art in the House group have now supplemented these with works from the Paintings in Hospitals picture loan scheme. These range from work by internationally established to lesser known professional artists. Viewing can be arranged by appointment.
