The following evening/weekend courses, led by experienced BAP psychotherapists, are designed for people from a wide range of professional backgrounds where ’people skills’ are especially valued and who are interested in the application of Psychoanalytic and Jungian Analytical ideas. Successful completion qualifies for a CPD Certificate.

Introduction to Psychoanalytic Concepts and their Application 2010: Ref. INT/2 Book

A Series of 17 Introductory Lectures and Discussion Seminars. The course provides an understanding of  some of the key developments in psychoanalytic concepts from their earliest origins to contemporary times. This introductory course is open to anyone interested in finding out about psychoanalytic concepts. It is suitable for those thinking about training in psychotherapy or psychoanalysis, and those who would like to see how an understanding of psychoanalytic ideas might inform their thinking in the workplace. The course will be of interest to all mental health professionals as well as to people working in education, academia, business, media, the arts or in other contexts. Weekend Course: The Foundations of Psychoanalytic Theory and Practice 2011: Ref. INT/4 Book

Four weekends consisting of Theoretical Seminars, Clinical Applications, Work Group Discussions and Experiential Groups. The course will provide you with an opportunity to begin or further your understanding of some key psychoanalytic concepts (Freud, Klein, Object Relations and Attachment Theory) and how they are used in practice. Jungian Model of the Psyche: An Introduction: Ref. INT/8 Book

Participants join MSc students for seminar discussions of Jungian concepts, read key paper by Jung and post-Jungian theorists (papers provided) and convene in their own facilitated group to link concepts to their work and education experiences. 6.45pm – 9.30pm (includes 15 minute break at 8.15pm) from September - December 2010. A Psychoanalytic Approach to Working with Children & Adolescents 2010: Ref. INT/10 Book

This is a work discussion course led by a senior child psychotherapist. The aim of the course is to develop and enhance psychoanalytic understanding of the emotional growth and behaviour of children and adolescents and to consider its application in current work. Group members’ experience in their own settings will form the basis of discussion and related to relevant theoretical concepts. This course is open to people who are interested in applying psychoanalytic understanding in their current work with children and adolescents and those considering further training. 10 Monday evenings per term, from 7.30pm – 9.00pm. Psychoanalytic Concepts at Work 2010/2011: Ref. INT/15 Book

This Group will be based on a series of work discussion seminars where participants bring accounts of their work. This is an opportunity to join a small stimulating discussion group which aims to facilitate the development of psychoanalytic thinking. It may also provide a link for those who have undertaken introductory courses and are preparing for clinical training. There are 8 seminars per term over 3 terms starting in Autumn 2008. Fee: £540. A Jungian Analytic Approach to Working with Adults: Ref. INT/20 Book

A senior Jungian Analyst leads this work discussion group. The course aims to develop and enchance an understanding of the unconscious motivations and dynamics present in us all. Group members’ experience in their own settings will form the basis for discussion and will be related to relevant theoretical concepts.
