MSc in the Psychodynamics of Human Development
The British Association of Psychotherapists in collaboration with Birkbeck College, University of London.

This is a two-year part time MSc, one year Certificate course with a Diploma option.
The course is aimed at practitioners working in a variety of settings who wish to integrate a Psychoanalytic or Jungian Analytic perspective into their work.
It is a useful preliminary for those considering training as psychotherapists, or for those wishing to make a career change into therapeutic work generally.
The main components are: an infant observation, Psychoanalytic or Jungian Analytic theories of development, work study seminars, contemporary issues and debates in Psychoanalytic or Jungian Analytic theory, research methods and a dissertation.
The current fees are £2,976 per year.
Applicants will normally be expected to have a good honours degree but non-graduates who are able to demonstrate suitable levels of academic and professional experience will be considered.

Accelerated MSc in the Psychodynamics of Human Development

Applications are welcomed for this course, beginning in April 2010.
This is an opportunity for qualified psychotherapists to gain an MSc in the Psychodynamics of Human Development.
It is an accelerated four term programme beginning in April and taught jointly by BAP and Birkbeck staff at both organisations - see addresses below.
The course provides an innovative use of accreditation of prior learning so that candidates will be able to use work completed for their psychotherapy training for a portfolio which forms part of the masters award.
The main components of the accelerated MSc are research methodology, dissertation support seminars, contemporary issues in Psychoanalytic or Jungian Analytic theory, and individual portfolio tutorials.
Applicants will be expected to be qualified psychotherapists who are able to provide a body of work, including an infant observation paper, for accreditation.
The fee for the four term course is £2400.
