Events

BAP Public Events aim to create a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere in which dialogue and discussion can flourish. We look to focus a Psychoanalytic or/and Jungian lens on the challenges of contemporary living and society. Our hope is that analytic perspectives can promote a deepening understanding of the human dilemmas in which we are all involved.
There are three principal areas of exploration that we look to facilitate:
We wish to develop a dialogue between psychoanalytic, including Jungian, thinking and the Arts, Sciences, Philosophy and Religion. This we pursue through Applied Events and Conferences that bring professionals from these worlds together in thought-provoking discussions that are open to the public.
Many psychotherapists, counsellors and those working in the helping professions seek and are required to undertake continuing professional development. We are committed to providing both a high quality in-put and a real opportunity for professionals to explore their own and other approaches to their work.
Psychoanalysts, Jungian Analysts and a wide range of Psychoanalytic Psychotherapists also need opportunities for reflection upon the intricacies of analytic work. The BAP continues to provide a forum for debate and discussion within the analytic profession, ensuring both high quality speakers and an atmosphere conducive to real exchange and cross fertilization. We seek to engage in the continuous work of theory building and to help practitioners reflect on the ways in which theory can helpfully inform clinical practice.
Above all, BAP Public Events look to create exciting opportunities for open and meaningful discussion.
