Welcome to the British Association of Psychotherapists

We are one of the longest established and largest independent providers of Jungian analytic and psychoanalytic psychotherapy for adults and children in the UK. Our members work in the NHS, the corporate and voluntary sectors and as private practitioners. We have been training Psychoanalytic and Jungian psychotherapists for 60 years.
We welcome enquiries from all sections of society, especially from members of black and minority ethnic communities.

Treatment
Please click on Find a therapist if you are thinking of psychotherapy treatment for yourself, or if it’s for your child. If you wish to know more about the kind of psychotherapy we offer, please go to FAQs.
Courses
We run introductory and CPD courses in London and in Oxford and Reading, see Wessex. For people interested in learning about psychoanalytic and Jungian analytic approaches to psychotherapy, we run an MSc Programme with Birkbeck College, University of London, which provides a good foundation for BAP’s Professional Training whose programmes are often reviewed to take account of clinical and scientific developments.
Career
As an active member association, we run regular events, such as an annual Open Day for people interested in psychotherapy as a career, and scientific meetings and conferences for clinicians. See the BAP Noticeboard for current details. If you are thinking about professional training, including up to Clinical Doctorate level in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy, Jungian analysis or in Psychoanalysis, please go to: Training Prospectus or Wessex Training Prospectus, or BPA Psychoanalysis.
